The Doctor stood facing John, watching him a bit worriedly, "You alright?"
"Fine… fine…" John waved his now empty glass absently, still trying to soak in the implications that the Doctor and the Master were gay and were together and that the Master was really a robot, at least in his universe after he lost him in the Time War. Weird, he just couldn't picture himself with Eccleston; he shuddered, trying not to. But with David well… in some strange, detached way, it worked… they had always had fantastic chemistry on camera, didn't know him too well outside of the roles but… the roles existed in a whole other UNIVERSE to themselves… maybe the roles were as important as David always seemed to think they were…
He looked up as the Doctor laid a firm hand on his shoulder, "You don't look alright… look a little pale like you did before," he frowned, peering at him closely, "Do you want another?"
"No, no," John pulled his arm back, keeping him there, "I'm fine… just…"
"Just… I don't know," he looked up at the Doctor seriously, "I feel… dazed but… not as much as I should, like… in a way… this sort of makes sense…"
The Doctor nodded, sitting next to him, "Go on… it's not every day I run into another universe where we exist," he grinned slightly.
"I don't… know quite how to feel," John was almost talking to himself, not looking at the Doctor, he felt… strange, but he couldn't put his finger on what it was, something in the drink maybe? "It's like… part of me is shocked… but another part of me has always known and… I can't tell which side is winning," he grinned bemusedly, "is that weird?" He looked up at the Doctor and his light brown eyes were slightly unfocused, vague… The Doctor assured himself it was just the shock he was experiencing.
"No, no, not weird…" and why was his face suddenly so much closer? The Master only got this close when he intended… to…
There was a brief space of time when neither of them had a clue what was going on. Then the Doctor's reflexes, from years of habit, lifted a hand and settled it familiarly on John's neck, curling into his hair at the nape, pulling him closer.
John took longer to get his wits about him, half trying to pull away, he wasn't entirely sure why he'd done it, but, surprised as his body was, it wasn't an altogether unpleasant sensation kissing another man… it was starting to feel quite nice actually.
It was around the time that John was starting to kiss back when the Doctor realized he wasn't kissing the Master.
"John!" he gasped, "what are you… stop this… this isn't right, this should be with your David, not with me…"
John blinked, then growled softly, "Well Dave's not here right now is he? And you sure look like him…" He reached for the Doctor's shoulders and pulled him down to kiss him firmly again, muffling whatever protest the Doctor was going to utter.
